Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP)

The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program is a resource for the University of Oregon’s community of scholars. UROP seeks to support and advance faculty-mentored undergraduate research and creative scholarship through three areas of emphasis:
McNair Scholars Program

McNair Scholars Program

The McNair Scholars Program prepares qualified juniors and seniors for graduate study leading to PhD degrees. McNair Scholars receive comprehensive support to earn undergraduate degrees, complete research projects in their fields of study, and apply to graduate schools. The program’s limited size provides a close-knit community while helping students gain a broad understanding of research and university culture.
Oregon Undergraduate Researchers in SPUR

Oregon Undergraduate Researchers in SPUR

University of Oregon students participating in SPUR do so through the OURS program (Oregon Undergraduate Researchers in SPUR). OURS offers fellowship opportunities for current UO undergraduate students to participate in ongoing research in life sciences laboratories at UO during the summer months.
Students of Color Opportunities for Research Enrichment

Students of Color Opportunities for Research Enrichment

SCORE (Students of Color Opportunities in Research Enrichment) is an academically based hands-on research club designed for students who are underrepresented in the life sciences. The primary goal of the program is to enable each student to gain confidence with a scientific skillset which will lead to undergraduate research and professional development opportunities.
UO Libraries Research Guides

UO Libraries Research Guides

Research guides are developed and maintained by experts from the University of Oregon Library. Resources are typically organized by academic discipline, subject, and type (course guides, subject/topic guides, how-to-guides). Theses librarian recommended resources and research tips are offered for variety of topics.
Undergraduate Research Symposium

Undergraduate Research Symposium

The annual Undergraduate Research Symposium takes place in the Erb Memorial Union (EMU) in the style of an academic conference and includes all types of academic research, and empowers undergraduate students to share their ideas, discoveries, and artistic work with the campus and the local community.
